Here we are guys!
Nvidia just released their Tegra 4 processor! This new quad core SOC is based on the Cortex A15 and comes with 72 GPU cores as well as built-in 4G LTE. It still comes with the 4+1 architecture with the powersaving core. They tote it as the world’s fastest mobile processor. Compared to the Nexus 10, the tablet with the Tegra 4 loaded 25 high traffic webpages in 27 seconds compared to the Nexus 10′s 50 seconds.
Their processing power is also 2-3.5x faster than current android tablets.
HDR is also a new feature of the Tegra 4. Here is a comparison of two HDR shots with an iPhone 5 compared with one combined with the Tegra 4.
Just from the picture above, you can see that there is a huge difference between the two shots. Tegra 4 can take 2 HDR shots so fast, that there is virtually no time difference between the two shots and results in no blur at all when the images are recombined. iPhone 5 takes 2 seconds to take two shots, while Tegra 4 is only takes 0.2 seconds.
New features are HDR Preview (realtime HDR preview before picture taking) which allows the picture-taker to see the difference of picture between HDR and non-HDR. HDR Video (recording video in realtime HDR).
Tegra 4 vs Exynos? We’ll have to see how this quad A15 battle plays out. But for now, Tegra 4 might just be the undisputed champion of the mobile processing world.
